Carey is an artist and surface designer working out of her home studio in the suburbs of Chicago. Formally trained as a graphic designer, with a BFA from the University of Notre Dame, she has recently shifted to focus on her art and surface pattern design. Her work is influenced by nature, traditional textiles and folk art. Working in both traditional and digital media, she often blends the two together to create patterns and art that are often described as bold, colorful and happy. Watercolor, print-making and digital art are some of her favorite mediums. When she’s not creating, she enjoys spending time traveling and seeking new inspiration outdoors.
